Is it just a coincidence? Did you ever take note, whenever the current administration runs into a domestic problem, there seems to always be a "security alert"? It's a good way for George II to take people's minds off his problems and think about a terrorist problem. Oh, but then, our politicians would never do anything like that (ha ha ha)

Politicians, all politicians, from the White House to the mayor of some small town are the most useless people in our society. I believe the reason they become politicians is that they are too stupid and incompetant to do anything else. Regardless of their party affiliation, they are all a bunch of morons.
Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Made my second and last tour as volunteer for the Library Center. Again, it was very hot until the clouds rolled in about 2:30.
The fair was sparsely attended, and that sparce attendance was reflected in the small number of visitors to the Library Center. If the Library is to continue at the fair, they should be given a better site for their exhibit.
The children that attended during my shift were just as knowledgeable as those on Tuesday. There were some that were able to play the games but were too young to read the text instructions. Two children must have been at the most 3 years old. Amazing.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Think about it.

I have been living in Springfield for 15+ years, and today was the first time I went to the Greene County Fair. I went to the fair as a volunteer for the Library, through ICON. Man it was hot, but thankfully the Library vehicle had great air conditioning.
I was to "help" the children at the computers (4) to play games and use the mouse, etc. I never felt so 'un-needed' in my life. These children, 3-12 in age needed absolutely no help. I think it is great that children as young as those who came to the Library Center have the knowledge they do have about computers. I don't think they realize how important knowing computers will be in their future.
I enjoyed the few hours very much, and look forward to Thursday for another session.

TRASHING THE OZARKS...............................................
The Ozarks is truly a great place to live. There are so many wonderful outdoor activities you can participate in. Why then do so many people who live in the Ozarks trash the area. You see it all the time, garbage thrown on the side of the road, beer and soda cans are all over. Some people seem to think that our streams are places to discard trash. Also, far too many people seem to think that having their property strewn with autos, trucks, and other trash is a sign of affulence. Why do people park in the streets when they have garages and driveways? You would think, that living in an area like the Ozarks, everybody would take pride in what a wonderful area it is. Evidently not!!!!

So, you think drivers where you live are bad!! Well, the location that has absolutely the worst drivers in the world is the Ozark region, specifically Springfield. There is a major epidemic here in Springfield, namely, red-light runners. It is absolutely incredible how so many people can be so stupid. At every intersection and every iteration of the traffic light, people run red lights. At the intersections that have no lights, they ignore full stop signs. The Springfield Police have said that the number of tickets written for running red lights has gotten smaller. The only reason this is possible is that the police don't enforce the law against running a red light.

Finally a break in the weather. It is very pleasant just to be outside. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the weather we have today would stay around forever?
